SUBLIME PHYSICAL COMEDY AND CLOWNING

Award winning actress and clown Edith Tankus was first introduced to the art of clown through studying the Pochinko Method. She then went on to study physical theatre and Le Jeu (the art of playing) in Paris with Philippe Gaulier and at L’École Jacques Lecoq.  In recent years, she has worked and toured extensively in the U.K. with companies such as Kneehigh, Told by an Idiot, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. She co-wrote and directed Nearly Lear, a one-woman adaptation of King Lear which was the recipient of the 2012 International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Victor Award for Outstanding Production.
