Critically-acclaimed author and storyteller Rukhsana Khan shares inspirational, behind-the-scenes stories from her highly acclaimed books. Students will hear stories from her childhood and learn about her inspiration and writing process. Exploring South Asian culture and issues surrounding bullying, poverty, immigration, and family, Rukhsana will adapt her performance to meet the needs of your students.

Rukhsana Khan has started a weekly virtual book club! On Sunday mornings at 10:30 am (EST), kids aged 6 – 10 can join her on Zoom as she shares fun literature and takes a critical look at the deeper elements of stories. LEARN MORE

About Rukhsana Khan
Rukhsana Khan is an award-winning author and storyteller. She was born in Lahore, Pakistan and immigrated to Canada at the age of three. She grew up bullied in a small town and read books to survive. She has fifteen books published and more on the way. In 2013, her book BIG RED LOLLIPOP was chosen by the New York Public Library as one of the 100 greatest children’s books in the last 100 years. She has appeared on television, radio and been featured at festivals around the world. She lives in Toronto with her husband and family.
