Student Programming Committee Opportunity

Prologue Performing Arts is looking for students in grades 7-12 who are passionate about the performing arts to join the Student Programming Committee for 2024-2025. Students on the committee will meet multiple times during the school year to review applications to the Prologue artist roster and provide feedback on the types of performing arts experiences they wish to see in schools. All meetings will be held virtually so students from across Ontario are encouraged to apply.

Length of Term

Students can apply for specific roles on the Student Programming Committee: 

Chair and Vice Chair: 

  • Facilitate conversations with committee members when reviewing artist applications 
  • Review and provide feedback on artist applications to join the Prologue artist roster 
  • Present committee feedback to the Prologue Programming Committee
  • Speak at Prologue events on behalf of the Student Programming Committee (ex. Prologue Spotlight) 
  • In collaboration with the Prologue Programming Committee Chair, present the Prologue company of artists to Prologue’s Board of Directors 

Secretary: 

  • Set meeting agendas with Chair and Vice Chair 
  • Take meeting minutes and organize committee feedback for presentation 
  • Review and provide feedback on artist applications to join the Prologue artist roster 
  • Attend all committee meetings and discuss applications with other members 
  • Collectively make recommendations to Prologue’s Programming Committee
  • Opportunity to attend Prologue’s Annual General Meeting

Advisory Committee Members: 

  • Review and provide feedback on artist applications to join the Prologue artist roster 
  • Attend all committee meetings and discuss applications with other members 
  • Collectively make recommendations to Prologue’s Programming Committee
  • Opportunity to attend Prologue’s Annual General Meeting

Requirements

  • Must be a student in grades 7-12 at an Ontario school 
  • Must have parent/guardian permission to participate if under the age of 18 years old
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Ability to collaborate with peers when making decisions 
  • Interest in the performing arts or learning more about the arts 
  • Dedication to review all application materials provided and attend all meetings
