Clowns Reading Shakespeare features a troupe of red-nose Clowns auditioning for diva Director’s Shakespeare play. Can these Clowns handle Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, or Macbeth? Definitely not…but the show must go on! As the Clowns interact with the audience, improv and mischief occurs as they make each play their own. Whether or not familiar with Shakespeare, viewers of all ages are sure to laugh, cry, and cheer along as the Clowns ultimately prove that a focus on teamwork and staying true to yourself leads to wonderful art.

Clowns has been presented at the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival’s Spotlight Series, at Tarragon Theatre’s Sally Stavro Family Series, at Toronto Fringe Festival Kidsfest, through Arts in the Park Toronto, at Toronto Youth Theatre, at the Richmond Hill Public Library, at Ovation! Performing Arts Academy, at Bard in the Park, and upcoming this fall, will be presented at the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts in their 2026/27 Education Series. Clowns received a special mention for Outstanding Performance by a Clown Ensemble for the Strange Maker Award at the 2026 Toronto Fringe.
