ImmersART:
Bringing Francophone arts, culture and heritage into our schools
ImmersART is a micro-grant program that finances activities held in French-immersion schools, in partnership with artistic and cultural organizations in their region. It aims to create new experiences for the students in French, through artistic, cultural and heritage activities.
ImmersART creates connections between schools and artistic and cultural organizations.
Prologue Performing Arts is a not-for-profit arts education organization that presents performing arts experiences in schools across Ontario. Prologue is an approved partner of the immersART program. Ontario schools that have a French immersion program can partner with Prologue to fund a French performing arts experience for your school.
This program will grant organizations a micro-grant of $1,500 per year per school to hold an eligible activity.
Who qualifies for the ImmersART micro-grant?
The ImmersART program is open to all Canadian junior and senior high schools that offer a French immersion program. To partner with Prologue Performing Arts and organize an activity, your school must be located in Ontario.
How can my school access the ImmersART micro-grant?
Partner with Prologue Performing Arts to organize a French activity for your school and, as a not-for-profit cultural organization, Prologue will apply for the micro-grant to cover the cost.
Step 1: Make sure your school is listed in the ImmersART directory
Step 2: Contact Prologue Performing Arts to express your interest in partnering with us.
Step 3: A Prologue staff member will work with the school contact to find a French performance or workshop for your school. We will agree on a date and time for the event, which will be scheduled 40 days or more in advance.
Step 4: Prologue will apply for the micro-grant which will cover the cost of the activity.
Step 5: Once the application is submitted, the appointed school contact or other administrator at the school is responsible for approving the micro-grant through the ImmersART portal. This will be possibly ten days after the application has been submitted.
Step 6: The activity will take place.
Step 7: During the activity, the school is responsible for taking photos and/or videos. The photos/videos must display the activity taking place but do not have to contain any student faces. If students appear in the photos/videos, permissions will have to be granted for Prologue to use them for social media and the Prologue website.
Step 8: Within 3 days of the event, the school will send the photos to Prologue Performing Arts who will create a social media post about the event. This will appear on Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube (if applicable). OR
The school will create a social media post on their own channel(s) about the activity and will tag @prologuearts and @immerArts and use the hashtag #ImmersART
IMPORTANT:
Step 7 & 8; the social media element is an obligation set out by ImmersART in order to receive the micro-grant. If the school cannot guarantee that photos will be taken at the event, and that those photos can be used for social media, please consider this.
If this requirement is not met, Prologue will not receive the funding to cover the activity and the school will be responsible for covering the full cost.
