Kaylie Kreatrix

Kimiko

This award-winning one-woman circus and story telling show explores the difficult history of Japanese-Canadians and the self discovery that comes with exploring one’s heritage. A work of physical theatre that includes dance, puppetry, circus and more, Kimiko is a celebration of Japanese art and culture.
This performance speaks about the unjust internment of Japanese-Canadians during WWII and how it has effected Kaylie and her family. She speaks about how she has discovered her heritage through circus as an adult, and how she is healing this generational trauma.
